The one that is afraid of hairdressers. The one that doesn't blow dry their hair. The one that has a bad experience of hair dye. The one that doesn't know how curlers work or backcombing, or plaiting. The one that ties her hair up in a ponytail and chops it off while her Nan stares at her in disgust. That is me and my relationship with hair. In short, I really don't do anything with it.

So when the opportunity to have a healthy hair change at the Drawing Room Salon came up, I jumped at the chance. It was a project which involved many other YouTubers who have uploaded videos on their experience. The project was organised by Mandy and Oskar (The owner of the Salon) who I thank deeply as it was a great experience.

So, what did I have done to my hair?

A quick backstory of my hair. It's thick. Knotty. Long. And a weird gingery colour of me trying to 'naturally' lighten it with lightening spray. So Hannah, who specialises in working with colour set about on my hair. Fun fact Hannah used to dye Niall Horan's hair, I was like omg. So I got my hair bleached with one of the weakest bleach, to give me a natural golden colour. Then she deepened my roots, so I had an almost ombre effect. Finally, Hannah went over with a couple of toners to give my hair a nice warm peachy colour which is perfect for the season. After a few washes my hair has lost most of its peachy tones, and it now more golden. But I really love it, it feels so much healthier and easier to work, this is due to it having a trim and being thinned out by Hector. Cheers, dude!

When dying our hair they used Olaplex and gave us a bottle to take home, now not having any clue with hair, I didn't realise how amazing Olaplex is. But after going home and doing some research I realise it's a miracle worker with hair and keeps it healthy and constantly repairs it. Evo also kindly gifted us with products to take home and keep our hair in top tip condition. It made me feel like it was Christmas.

I would like to end this post by a little disclaimer that none of this was sponsored and I was not paid for any of this. I am just really happy with one of my first proper professional hair treatment and wanted to take you guys on the journey with me. I would also love to know what you thought about my hair, I will be replying to comments down below. (Be honest!)

P.S- Thanks Ray for the lovely photos.

Thanks

  2. It's easy to tell if you have healthy hair. There are signs such as does it have good shine? Is it thick or long?

  3. However, if your hair is originally straight and black, using hair dye will change its natural strands. A black hair that has undergone different hair colors will soon become brittle and weak.
