Our Baby.
Our Record Player.
We love it with out heart.

Grace and I aren't really people for impulse buys. But that's exactly what we did when we brought our record player, and because of this I've decided that impulse decisions can be great decisions. The reason we decided to get a record player was because we had a lot of records from my Mum and my Grandma, back in the day when records were their equivalent to Spotify.  But with nothing to play these on we knew would have to dip into our purses.

Grace did use to have a beautiful Crosley record player, but it broke.
Now, I have nothing against Crosley players, personally I think they are simply beautiful, so Pintrest, so instagramble. However if you have the intention of playing a lot of records on your Crosley player, they may not be for you. in our opinion based on our previous experience Crosley's aren't the most practical and also aren't the kindest to your records either- which sucks, especially if you have old records like us.

So after a lot of googling and asking for advice on twitter, we just went for it and brought our record player which is a 'audio technica 120' and it's so lovely. It may not be as beautiful as Grace's old Crosley but the performance sure does makes up for it. We tend to use our record player when we are working, or uploading a video (as the internet dies on every other device during an upload) - It's  just really refreshing to shut off from the internet for a while, and just listen to our music. It's also a great way to get our head in our work space. I love it.  We listen to a mixture of old and new music, and the variety is just perfect.

My current favourites are:
And some that I really want to get are M83, The Killers- Hot Fuss, and Florence And The Machine. So if you see any of them in a shop somewhere, please give me a heads up.

Anyway hope you liked seeing our baby, speak soon guys!

  3. Love your music taste! I have a record payer and do you know what I mean when I say that it adds something else to the music that CDs or music streaming on phones don't have....

  5. Oh, we have a very similar record player as a heritage from my family and I totally love it! It's so different experience and I love its strong and great sound. I use to listen even a classical music with our record player and it always brings me back decades ago. <3 I hope you will enjoy many wonderful moments with your baby. :)

  8. I hope you know the AT-LP120 is a poor clone of the Technics SL-1200 series. But then again the AT-LP120 does not cost £500. I am using a Technics SL-1200 Mk2 with a Audio Technica AT150-MLX cartridge.
