So a few weeks back I worked on a project with Dazed Magazine, called #DazedGeneration. When I heard about this, I was so excited! I mean, why wouldn't I be? I love this magazine, it's artistic, vibrant and most importantly it speaks up about important issues.
#DazedGeneration covered a number of 18-22 year olds (of whom I'm one), each individual is able to tell Dazed "what they love, hate and would like to see change about their country" (and we also had some awesome photos taken, as shown in this article). I can't tell you how important I think it is for people to speak up in our world today- Hint. Hint. Vote. Hint. Hint.
Today there is a culture where many people want to blend in, most people don't want to stand up and speak their mind- or at least don't have the confidence to. I'm not saying that you should suddenly be the most upfront person in the world- but it's important to stand up for what you believe in. Wether it's to do with politics, Art, Animals, Discrimination, or morals- you can make a difference!
I spoke to Dazed Magazine about what I feel the most strongly about, and here is a snippet that they quoted. You probably would have guessed what I was speaking about, typical Grace.
You can find out all about #DazedGeneration in this months issue ss15 of Dazed, or alternatively head over to Dazed Digital. If you take anything out of this blog post, just remember that you don't have to agree with everything you hear, you don't have to blend in. Instead stick up for what you believe in. If nobody speaks up, nothing will change. Please pop down below your thoughts on the world today, I would love to hear them! -G,x
